Storage Tips


  • Drain fluids from engine, pumps, and coolers
  • Fill the gas tank
  • Add stabilizer to the gas
  • Refresh the antifreeze in the cooling system
  • Remove the battery
  • Remove spark plugs
  • Change transmission fluid
  • Remove all plants/barnacles
  • Grease all fittings
  • Cover boat tightly

  • Refresh the antifreeze in the cooling system
  • Remove the battery
  • Take any electronics or belts that may be susceptible to temperature fluctuations
  • Remove all food or other perishables
  • Check tires for full inflation

Be sure to measure your vehicle, including any trailer which may be attached, to make sure you choose the right fit.


  • Check the tires for dry rot or low inflation
  • Check all fluid levels
  • Attach a fully charged battery
  • Install new spark plugs
  • Check for unwanted creatures

Check your manual for more specifics, but remember to include:
  • Remove any plants/barnacles from the boat
  • Sand and paint the boat's bottom
  • Drain and remove all water
  • Apply corrosion protection to the engine
  • Run the engine after adding fuel stabilizer
