Storage Tips
- Drain fluids from engine, pumps, and coolers
- Fill the gas tank
- Add stabilizer to the gas
- Refresh the antifreeze in the cooling system
- Remove the battery
- Remove spark plugs
- Change transmission fluid
- Remove all plants/barnacles
- Grease all fittings
- Cover boat tightly
- Fill the gas tank
- Change the oil
- Refresh the antifreeze in the cooling system
- Remove the battery
- Take any electronics or belts that may be susceptible to temperature fluctuations
- Remove all food or other perishables
- Check tires for full inflation
Be sure to measure your vehicle, including any trailer which may be attached, to make sure you choose the right fit.
- Check the tires for dry rot or low inflation
- Check all fluid levels
- Attach a fully charged battery
- Install new spark plugs
- Check for unwanted creatures
Check your manual for more specifics, but remember to include:
- Remove any plants/barnacles from the boat
- Sand and paint the boat's bottom
- Drain and remove all water
- Apply corrosion protection to the engine
- Run the engine after adding fuel stabilizer
